Heather Martin

Founder & Executive Producer

Heather is a playwright, director, producer, and dramaturg from Australia, living in Belfast. 

As a playwright she has had seven plays produced across Australia, Ireland, England, and Switzerland. Her first play, The Book of David was produced in 2015 and went onto be shortlisted for Queensland Theatre's Young Playwright of the Year Award in 2016. In 2020, it was published by Australian Plays Transform. Her professional theatre debut came in 2022 for her play The Initiation of Tommy Wilson which performed to a sold-out season at BackDock Arts in Brisbane. Her newest play, As We Drift, was shortlisted for the Lyric/Pleasance New Writing Award 2025.

As a director, she has directed four of her own shows, with her most recent credit being Queen of the Bees by Johanna Gallagher at The Sanctuary Theatre. She is working as Assistant Director with Dark Forest Theatre on two upcoming shows - I, She, Medusa at The Mac (Feb, 2026) and Alice in Wonderland (Grand Opera House, 2026). She recently worked as dramaturg on Siucra as part of the Incubate Festival.
